Understanding Exposure

The exposure triangle consists of ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. Each stop doubles or halves the amount of light reaching the sensor.

EV (Exposure Value)

EV is a number representing a combination of aperture and shutter speed at ISO 100. EV 0 corresponds to f/1.0 at 1 second. Each increment of 1 EV halves the light.
